Palmyra is our bestselling surface, and the reason is immediately apparent. A white base with dramatic grey veining that flows organically across the slab — it captures the look of Calacatta marble without any of the maintenance compromises.

The veining in Palmyra is bold but not uniform. It varies in intensity across the slab, creating natural movement that makes each installed kitchen feel individual. Under overhead spotlights, the grey veins develop soft shadows that add genuine depth. In morning light from a window, the white base glows.

Palmyra pairs beautifully with both shaker and handleless doors. Grey or sage-toned cabinets pick up the vein colour. White units keep the look clean and let the stone do the talking. For kitchen islands, the continuous veining across a two-slab installation can be genuinely striking.

Strata Palmyra — Common Questions

How does Palmyra compare to real Calacatta marble?

Palmyra replicates the dramatic veining of Calacatta marble but requires zero maintenance. Real marble needs sealing every 6-12 months, stains from wine and citrus, and etches from acidic substances. Palmyra is non-porous — wipe it clean and walk away.

Will every Palmyra slab look the same?

The veining pattern is consistent in character but varies in exact placement across each slab. This is intentional and means every kitchen has a slightly individual look. The overall impression — bold grey veins on white — is always the same.

Can the vein direction be changed?

Yes. During your site visit, our fitter will discuss veining orientation. The slab can be cut to align veins with or against your kitchen runs depending on your preference.

Is Palmyra hard to keep clean?

No. The white base does show crumbs and spills more obviously than dark surfaces, but the non-porous finish means nothing absorbs. A wipe with a damp cloth is all it takes.
