What Happens When You Order Quartz Worktops: The Full Process

From order to fitted worktop takes 2-3 weeks. Every Quartz Store order follows the same precise four-step process, designed to eliminate guesswork and deliver a worktop that fits your kitchen exactly. Here is what happens at each stage.

Step 1: Choose and Order

Browse our quartz worktop collection and select your colour and configuration. Single slab, L-shape, or U-shape — the price includes everything. No extras appear later. Order online or call us directly.

Step 2: Site Visit

Within 3-5 working days, a Quartz Store surveyor visits your home. They use laser measurement technology to capture every dimension to 0.5mm tolerance. Wall angles, cabinet positions, sink locations, and hob placements are all recorded digitally.

This step matters. UK kitchens are rarely square. Walls bow. Corners sit at 89° or 91° instead of 90°. Our digital templating accounts for every variation, which is why we never accept DIY measurements.

Step 3: CNC Fabrication

The digital template transfers directly to our CNC machines. Your quartz slab is cut with precision tooling — sink cutouts, hob cutouts, tap holes, and edge profiles are all machined in a single session. Edges are polished to the selected profile. Fabrication takes 5-7 working days.

Quality Check

Every worktop is inspected before dispatch. Dimensions verified against the original template. Surface checked for consistency. Edges examined for finish quality.

Step 4: Fitting Day

A two-person team arrives with your finished worktops. The process typically takes 4-6 hours:

  • Old worktop removed (if applicable)
  • New quartz positioned and levelled
  • Joints sealed with colour-matched adhesive
  • Sink undermounted and sealed
  • Silicone applied to wall junctions
  • Final inspection with you present
